The Cure for Perfectionism: Do It Imperfectly First

I used to believe everything had to be perfect before I could put it out into the world. The post had to be polished, the system had to be seamless, the website flawless, and my words—well, they needed to land like a TED Talk every time. But let me tell you something I’ve learned after 32+ years in business, entrepreneurship, and real estate:

Perfection is the greatest thief of momentum.

I see it in myself, I see it in the clients I coach, and I see it in brilliant entrepreneurs sitting on world-changing ideas simply because it’s “not ready yet.”

The truth? Nothing is ever truly ready.

What creates readiness is action.
And more often than not, that action is messy, awkward, imperfect, and incredibly powerful.

I can’t count how many times I launched something that felt half-baked—only to look back later and realize it was exactly what I needed to do to learn, grow, refine, and align with something even better. That first blog post, that unedited video, that conversation I wasn’t sure how to navigate… it all became the catalyst for clarity.

Here’s the cure for perfectionism:
Do it imperfectly. Let it be messy. Be courageous enough to begin.

When you take that first step, even with shaky hands or a draft you cringe at later, you activate alignment. The right people show up. The right resources appear. The fog lifts. Your voice strengthens. Your vision sharpens. And your faith deepens.

Because when you trust that your imperfect action is enough to move mountains, the universe leans in to support you.

You were never meant to build a life, business, or legacy from a place of perfection.
You were meant to build it from purpose.

So here’s your reminder today:

Start where you are. Use what you have. Let it be imperfect. And trust that everything else will align for your greater good.

You’re not behind.
